Yesterday, I spent my precious Youth day in HELL . None of u have ever been in a place full of strangers of the opposite gender ...so needless to say, you will be thinking that the ASEAN Summit is a brisk walk in the park, or even enjoyable...
To those complete IDIOTS out there, being in such a situation is not in the least FUN...To the complete airheads out there who think I enjoyed myself, go shove yourself off the building...
I messaged people 4 help on the first day, when I didn't dare to talk to anyone and cause they were all busy flirting with each other or being a sexist. Almost all of them except Sherine, Sophia and my mum gave me useful replies...Someone even had the gall to say something along the lines of "Too bad".
God sent me to ASEAN to learn an important lesson...what it's like to be YiTian. To those who formerly despised her, maybe you should be thrown into my situation as well...Do you know how horrible it is to be alone without friends, scared stiff of talking to anyone because they are all acting all so superior?Do you know what's it's like to be ridiculed for your appearances and stiff tongue?
OF COURSE YOU BLEEDING DON'T!
We guys were so engrossed in our little lives that we completely overlooked some facts!
When you first step into a new environment, getting a good start is important. You need to make friends quick, and if your appearances aren't particularly appealing, or you're just too shy to speak up, You're in big trouble.
Compared with others, you'll think you look dumb and nerdy.(Those who dun think that way are either self-confident or seriously deluded)
Anyway, if you dun get friends, u will feel very left out when you see everyone else hanging in large groups. When that happens, you'll feel unworthy and shy to approach these groups to make friends, leading them to think you are
EMO
A mute
or
Stone
After that, you'll lose all your nerve completely because people no longer speak to you...and you can only do two things.
1)Act cool and be stone like Kanda
2)TRY to act cool but tremble everytime someone talks to you and IGNORE THEM!Pretend you're invisible...I'm not here...
In the Summit, I was a mix between the two, mostly number two when there're a huge sea of guys around...it's freaky...but the HwaChong guys are hilarious, with a great sense of humour...(Let's have little Geylangs all around Singapore!)
I now know how YiTian feels like. It's a horrible feeling.EVERYONE should experience it so we can stop looking down on people and become wiser. I was hit by this stunning revelation this morning when I was staring at the clock, wishing it was time to go home.
I bet YiTian probably hoped for school to end early everyday. No wonder she didn't like going to school. And we had to go and make fun of her...sure, some of us may not like her but at least, treat her like a human!
If you came to this blog trying to find out how Ruth enjoyed her ASEAN Summit, go to Lucas and ask.He absolutely LOVED it there. After all, he made friends very fast with the guys AND nanyang girls there. He was ranked number 10th in the Top 10 cutest/hottest guys at the Summit.
So would you guys from BP like to go there and be like him?Dun bother...honestly,I saw two guys in the summit who were...erhmmm...more of that later...anyway, my taste can be quite profound.Suffice to say that if I showed u their pics, you would think one of them looked quite ordinary.(That guy was from the same Press team)
Okk...I admired the way he carried himself, like YU KANDA!HONEST!HE WAS SO TOTALLY LIKE KANDA!Wow...I didn't expect to find a real live Kanda there...minus the ponytail of course...
The other guy was ...pretty.He had long eyelashes and he kept taking off his glasses and putting them on again...probably to surprise people with his looks. If he dyed his hair white and changed his hairstyle and had violet eyes, he'ld be exactly like KEI !(Kindly refer to previous post)
Ok.End of story.I survived two days of hell thanks to LUCAS and MR SIVA and BUKIT PANJANG GOVT HIGH(the office lady called my mum to ask why I wasn't in school...shows you the school's high regard for this summit eh?)
God sent me there to suffer as Jesus did and from him, I learnt that every hardship we go through is meant to refine and make us stronger, like pottery being baked in a furnace to produce a beautiful porcelain vase.
I thank God for this Summit, even though I really felt like committing sucide at times and I missed two days of lunch just so I didn't have to eat with all those guys and feel left out...
IN ANY CASE,thank you for allowing me to feel other's pain more clearly instead of just imagining it.I shall never outcast anyone again.
I VOW TO MAKE FRIENDS WITH EVERY OUTCAST I GET MY HANDS ON!
Thank you God, in Jesus name I pray,
Amen
-when are you
coming back? ;
